Ellie wasn’t a grey hungry dog. She did get hungry, but hunger wasn’t the only important thing in her life. Originally a Calgary girl, she came to live with a new family where she learned to like shopping trips, hanging around the FishLady patio, and sleeping on any comfy bed, sofa, or chair. But there was also the nightly rabbit patrol she maintained until her last days.
Ellie’s world was turned upside down one day when she moved to a new house where all the dogs had turned grey, and worse still two of them were puppies! She did have her friend Frida to share her disgust at the two tail-grabbing treat thieves that she now had to live with.
Although not an Elkhound (she was quite disturbed to find that she alone wasn’t grey), she tried her best to join in the Watermelon and other rituals of grey dog culture. The end of her humans’ bed is a lot colder without Ellie to warm it up.
